Fit 4 All week & National Fit 4 All expo

Fit4all week takes place from the 8th -14th May nationwide. As part of the fit4all week CARA are also hosting a National fit4all expo (10th May) which will be held in the New National Indoor Arena, Blanchardstown.

Throughout the Fit4All week, CARA are inviting leisure Centres, fitness facilities, community halls, professional trainers etc. around the country to open up their centres and invite individuals with disabilities to participate in their programmes and to try out everything within their facility

To encourage and promote the area of fitness and exercise for people with disabilities CARA will also be offering facilities that sign up to the FIT4all week an opportunity for their staff to avail of places (2 per centre) on our National Inclusive Fitness Training course. 

The National fit4all Expo will showcase a number of fitness classes and demonstrations that are aimed at highlighting the inclusion of individuals with disabilities.  The master class on the day is being run by Kris Saunders of Wheely Good Fitness.  Kris Saunders is the Founder of Wheely Good Fitness providing unique and modern fitness classes to wheelchair users and to the wider disability community.  Since embracing using a wheelchair and becoming a fitness instructor his role and involvement within the field of disability and fitness has become diverse - actively encouraging a change in perceptions by the fitness industry and the public in what people living with disabilities are capable of.   There will be a full schedule of classes throughout the day each highlighting the inclusion of individuals with disabilities.

The Expo will also pay host to an exhibition of services and products from companies, retailers and vendors working in the fitness sector.  Each exhibitor will be highlighting their product or service with special focus on how it can improve or assist with the inclusion of individuals with a disabilities into their centre programmes.  

Fit4All week aims to increase awareness of the benefits of regular exercise, active and healthy lifestyles and participation opportunities for people with disabilities. It also seeks to give facility providers and professionals increased confidence in delivering physical activity programmes for people with disabilities.

The Fit4All week and Fit4All expo launches on the 27th February.

The patron for the week is renowned Kerry Footballer and currently dancing with the stars celebrity Aidan O’Mahoney. Chris Mc Elligott from Operation Transformation will also be supporting the fit4all week and national expo.

The Fit4all week is funded by the dept. of Justice and is supported by Ireland Active, the National Learning Network, Irish Wheelchair Association Sport, Stewarts Care, St. Michaels House, NCBI, and the National Training Centre (NTC)
