Appointment to the Board of Sport Ireland
The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified candidates for one position on the Board of Sport Ireland.
Essential
Candidates must demonstrate in their application evidence of experience at an appropriately senior level in one or more of the following areas:
- Significant involvement in sport, in any relevant capacity (e.g. active participation, administration, coaching), which would indicate an in-depth knowledge of the challenges facing the sector
- Strategic HR Management
- Corporate governance experience
Desirable
- Relevant experience in risk management;
- Previous board/corporate governance experience and knowledge of Government policy and procedures;
- Experience in the areas of IT and digital innovation;
- Experience in the area of Marketing & Branding;
- Knowledge of sustainable development practice and principles;
- Knowledge of the Irish Language;
- Knowledge of matters relating to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), such as advocating for greater diversity and inclusion in public services, or the delivery of programmes and/or projects, with participation of, for example, multicultural, minority and disadvantaged groups in mind.
