Erry Hills Way, now new and improved

 11 Oct 2017

Work has recently been completed on a 700m stretch of the 4.5km Erry Hills Way in Clara

Clara was awarded €8,000 from the Department of Community and Rural Development's 2017 Outdoor  Recreation Scheme to undertake the remedial work needed to make the track suitable for walkers all year round; leaving the track natural and unspoilt with spectacular views over the Clara Bog towards the Slieve Bloom Mountains.

The Erry Hills Way has always been one of the best walks in Clara; and with the hedges trimmed, potholes filled and the surface improved it is even better.

Mary Delaney,  Chair of The Walking Trails Committee said that this is their first project and it has been very well received by the local landowners and walkers of the town. Mary added that an official launch of the track will be held in due course but the  track is now open and available for walking.
