Sport Ireland’s vision for women in sport is one where women have an equal opportunity to achieve their full potential, while enjoying a lifelong involvement in sport.

To celebrate International Women's Day 2024, Sport Ireland will once again be hosting its annual Women in Sport Week from 4th March to 10th March 2024. 

The aim of this year's campaign is to:

• promote and highlight the ongoing work of Sport Ireland, NGBs, LSPs and other stakeholders and funded bodies, under the topic of Women in Sport. 
• celebrate every woman and girl who plays, coaches, officiates, volunteers, works in and leads out on WIS.
• encourage and remind men and boys to be allies for women in sport.

The week will be themed each day to capture the key target areas of the Women in Sport Policy. The provisional daily themes are (and may be subject to change): -

• Monday 4th – High Performance
• Tuesday 5th – Visibility
• Wednesday 6th – Leadership and Governance
• Thursday 7th – Coaching and Officiating
• Friday 8th – International Women’s Day 2024
• Saturday 9th – parkrun Women in Sport
• Sunday 10th – Active Participation
