Ministers Martin and Byrne recently announced that the Government would be re-opening the application process for the Energy Support Scheme for Sport. Under Phase 2 of this scheme, community-owned sports facilities not specifically affiliated to a National Governing Body of Sport or who do not currently qualify for TBESS (Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme) or other government schemes, can now engage with their Local Sports Partnership (LSP) to ascertain if they are eligible to qualify for funding.

Offaly Sports Partnership is now accepting applications from community organisations which operate facilities primarily used for sport and physical activity under Phase 2 of the Energy Support Scheme for Sport. In order to qualify for the above support, the organisation making the application will: -
- be based in Offaly
- be community owned; and not for profit
- own a community hall or facility, primarily used for sport and physical activity
- be the bill holder for all energy bills received
Community organisations interested in applying for Phase 2 of the Energy Support Scheme for Sport should submit an expression of interest to Offaly Sports Partnership by email to sports@offalycoco.ie (subject bar of email to read Energy Support Scheme for Sport, Phase 2) by 12.30pm on Wednesday, 24th May 2023. The following should be included in your expression of interest: -
- Name of the applicant organisation
- Contact details for correspondence, etc. (name / email / telephone)
- Total cost for all energy bills for the following periods - Sept 2019 to May 2020; and Sept 2022 to May 2023. Please note, copies of the energy bills for the two periods must be attached as evidence of costs incurred
